Cleanliness Inspection
Inspection of ships holds and tanks, containers, railway cars and trucks to ensure that the areas/units that are able to carry the agricultural goods are free from any odour, foreign matter, dirt, cargo residues or pest infestation, and watertight and safe for the cargo transported.
Pest control and fumigation
Insects can clearly be a major problem with agricultural products. Pest control and fumigation can be performed in warehouses, silos, in the holds of ships or other vehicles.
Superintendence at loading and/or discharge
Cotecna supervises loading or discharging operations to verify whether the goods are in agreement with the contract specifications regarding quality and quantity.
  
Sampling at loading/discharge or in factory
Sampling of bulk cargo or lots of merchandise, according to the buyer's requirement and/or recognized trade rules (FOSFA/GAFTA/ISO etc). Representative samples are sent to a laboratory for analysis to confirm contract specification or are kept by Cotecna for future reference.
Weight Verification
Supervision of scales and weighbridge operations; Draft surveys on sea vessels can also be performed by Cotecna inspectors.
